Expensive book!

November 18th, 2008 by vivian

Buying imported goods in China is very expensive. The other day while we were at Coastal City (I know, I always go there, because it’s nearer…), we saw this puzzle book and Naomi loves this book a lot. She loves to do this kind of simple puzzle now. It has 6 pages with 6 different puzzles on each page with name and explaination. I think it’s quite educational but very simple.

Seeing her so enjoying the book and able to name most of the objects, i just have to get that for her. In the end, we paid RMB168 for this book which I think it is very very expensive for such simple book.

Sigh…..

Winter shopping…

November 16th, 2008 by vivian

Before we came to ShenZhen, I have actually prepared all the winter clothing for Naomi and myself, but too bad, our luggage were overweight because of milk powders and food, we just have to sacrifice our clothes…

As so, I have a better reason to shop and shop and shop…

HuiSia was nice enough to accompany me to HK to get winter clothing. We went to Shatin and it’s a great place to shop for kids! And because it’s a great place, I seriously do not want to say how much I spent there…

Of course, these are not all that I got for my precious, there are more but I’ll just keep it quiet lar…

Since I’ve bought so much for Naomi, I can’t carry anymore things for myself, as for my own winter clothing, I bought it in ShenZhen… plus a pair of boots which I think it’s pretty good deal RMB790 after discount from RMB1k+.

This time, daddy’s new toys…

November 12th, 2008 by vivian

Daddy always have headache after getting this job in China. hahaha …. So he need something to relax. Here they are, Osim i-crwon and Icare.

I-crown is an electric-chair-like device that you “screw” on to your head and it can vibrate, pressurise, and there’re 3 types of relaxing music to be chosen too… frankly, it is quite relaxing!

The Icare, is for the tired eyes, heat and pressure to relieve the stressful eyes… this one, i have yet to try…. I guess it is quite good as hubby always bring this to office and use it during lunch break.

Poor daddy, must be very stressful….

Steamed Banana Cake

November 10th, 2008 by vivian

I don’t have an oven here in China, and I seriously crave for banana cake. So I was looking for a steamed cake recipe, and here, I found it. It is easy and it is delicious! It’s steamed, it’s less oily. A very good choice of cake!

I couldn’t find baking soda and baking powder… hence I only used self-raising flour, egg, banana, sugar, milk and oil. The mixture turn out still soft and spongy, taste wonderful while it’s warm!

Mashed the banana, put in the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. And this is the Mixture.

Steam for 15-20mins. I actually steamed for 20mins and realised there’s still a tiny bit in the center part which is still not “fully dried up”. So I guess it really depends…

And here, my cake…. looks a lot like banana huat kuey. hehehehe

Both hubby and mum commented it is very nice, I should steam more variety of cakes so that we are eating homemake healthy stuff!

More toys…

November 3rd, 2008 by vivian

We went to toy’r'us in Holiday Plaza, ShenZhen last Saturday and brought home more toys! If my husband said we are going home now, I probably will strangle him… the house here is full of toys and books and dvds!!! I do not know how to bring all these home in the future… Probably we’ll just discard them, or bring them back gradually. Paying for mover to bring these home is totally not worth it.

More DVDs….

OK, I am not a very good mother. I let my kid watch tv, quite a lot… Luckily, my girl isn’t that into tv. However, new show will always get her attention for the first 15mins, and that spare me sometime off to wash the dishes, to cook or to take a bath….

Since only new show or show that she didn’t watch for a long time will get her attention, I need to prepare a bit more to rotate… hence I got her all these when we were back in Malaysia last trip…..

Great birthday balloon.

October 30th, 2008 by vivian

I bought this for Naomi’s birthday party, RM180 if i remember correctly. A helium gas tank to make helium balloon, and it is very very easy to use. The kids are happy to see helium balloon and Naomi loves the giant pooh bear foil balloon that I got for her too!

I think it’s worth getting it for a great birthday decoration. 1 box can make about 50 balloons and it can be kept for 1 year if the gas is not used up.

Her personal swimming pool….

October 27th, 2008 by vivian

It’s been raining almost everyday and Naomi couldn’t have her favorite activity, swimming…. She’s been bugging me to go swimming but I just couldn’t take the risk to put her in cold water after the rain. We are going to China in 2 days time and I do not want her to catch a cold…

So I got her this instead from toy’r'us…. she loves it in the nice luke warm water… look how she enjoyed herself in her personal swimming pool… Nice!

Naomi has grown a lot… I’ve been doing lots of shopping since I am back in KL.

I will update lots of them later after I got in to ShenZhen again.

Here, my girl…

Part of my diaper bags….

October 3rd, 2008 by vivian

I was arranging my bags collection the other day and realised that I really have a lot of bags…. and quite a few of diaper bags too! But among all my diaper bags, these 2 are the most expensive which make this make me feel stylo-milo, hehehehehe ;)  :P

This Coach diaper bag was purchase in US. When Naomi was born, Coach Malaysia didn’t carry any diaper bag from any collection yet. Now, I heard Coach KLCC is bringing in diaper bags from limited collection only. So far, I have yet to check it out there. This bag is very spacious, lots of compartment, and goes well with all kind of outfit. I carried this bag more as Naomi has switched from a breastfed baby to bottle fed, there is more things to be taken out.

And this, is Juicy Couture. I got this bag from Pavillion on it’s first week opened. I was invited to attend their opening ceremony too! However, due to Naomi was still very very young, I didn’t get to go. Furthermore, at that time, I seriously couldn’t fit into any of my cocktail dress, and I really do not want to spend on cocktail dress which I do not wish for the size to be endured…. This bag is great, is hip and is youthful! Only one thing, heavy. Without anything inside, it is already heavy… if I put in water bottle, milk, water, seriously, I can hardly carry it on my shoulder…

However, the bag that I use most, is my skiphop sling bag and I put the water bottles and milk powder in another hand carry bag which was a free gift from Honda and stuff it under the stroller everytime. Muahahahahahahaha :D :D
